Copenhagen Pride organises events for the LGBTI+ community including Winter Pride in February, Pride week in August and other events throughout the year. We are the largest free Pride in Scandinavia and Denmark’s biggest LGBTI+ human rights event.
We have space in our Secretariat team for a Communications Intern to support our communications activities across all aspects of our organisation. It will be a fantastic opportunity to understand working in an organisation focused on LGBTI+ human rights, delivering events, working with a range of external partners, and working across every aspect of communications.
Duties and responsibilities
As our Communications Intern, you will:
- Working with the Head of Secretariat, have a day-to-day overview of all communications activities related to Copenhagen Pride
- Help to plan, schedule and manage social media posts, and answer incoming queries from members of the public
- Assist with editing and updating the website
- Help to answer requests from media and work with the Head of Secretariat and Chairperson in responding to them
- Work with our specialist area managers as they plan the program for our events, and to help to develop a plan for promoting campaigns and events
- During our events, work with the whole team to support the events being delivered according to plan
- Be a part of our ‘hands-on’ Secretariat team where we all work together to get tasks completed when needed!
If the internship would form part of your studies or another program, we are happy to consider adding further areas if these would support you in your studies.
Skills and experience
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
- Is a good communicator, and who is fluent (level C2) in written and spoken Danish, and who has at least level B2 in written and spoken English
- Has some experience in communications in a professional setting
- Has an interest in communications and sees this as a potential future career
- Is committed to the cause of LGBTI+ human rights
- Has the right to work in Denmark
Further information
We would like someone to start at the beginning of January but we are flexible in dates. The minimum length would be to the end of March 2025, but ideally we prefer candidates who can commit to six months.
The weekly hours can be agreed in the range between 24 and 37 hours. Our core office hours are 10:00-16:00 but some work outside office hours should be expected, especially during our event periods.
It is an unpaid internship based at our cosy office in the centre of Copenhagen. We know that it’s sometimes helpful to work from home, and this is fine with us.
Application information
Send your CV and a covering letter by Friday 15 November to the Head of Secretariat, Steve Taylor, at [email protected].
Interviews will be held at the Pride office in week 48.
