It’s cold in Copenhagen. The twinkling lights of Christmas have been packed away, and the New Year’s confetti swept up. It’s as gray, dark, and rainy as any other Danish winter, but get ready to get some rainbows and queer-centered coziness into your life when Winter Pride 2023 rolls up on 20-25 February! This is our ninth time hosting the event, and we are now ready to show what you have to look forward to.
Once again, Huset-KBH will set the stage for a week of programming, this year with the theme ‘QueerPlus’, that puts intersectionality front and center and seeks to emphasize the often forgotten ways we experience the world differently as LGBTI+ people.
For the third time, Copenhagen Pride’s Culture Group is producing the show Pride Night Live, which will be presented to an audience in Xenon and simultaneously live-streamed. With performances from, among others, Basit, Asbjørn, and UBLU, along with visits from the likes of The Drag School and Queer Youth Speaks, the hosts Elijah Kashmir and Robin Mae Andersen will guide us safely through four evenings of education and entertainment.
The Human Rights Program features a wide range of talks, debates, and social events. ‘QueerPlus’ is reflected in events such as Crash Course in Intersectionality, Disability and Representation, and What is a good ally? among many others. You can also hear author Glenn Bech talk about his recently published book on the class aspect as an overlooked concept in the work for LGBTI+ rights, enjoy film screenings hosted by MIX COPENHAGEN, or get groovy at the alcohol free Winter Pride Celebration on Friday, where Aida Mai and Asta-Maja will be bringing the tunes to heat up the dance floor.
As always, we end the week in style with an afterparty at Pressen. Tickets cost 170 and are up for sale at Billetto. More information will follow on our app and social media, so be sure to stay up to date for the latest update!
We’re so excited to welcome you all to Winter Pride 2023!
Copenhagen Winter Pride Week takes place from 20-25 February at Huset-KBH, Rådhusstræde 13. The full program is available on our website and in the app ‘Copenhagen Pride’ on App Store and Google Play.
