Thanks for a lovely Winter Pride!

The 11th edition of Winter Pride ended on Sunday after more than 30 events, including debates, workshops, live comedy, podcast recording, film screening, concert, volunteer events and LGBTQIA+ history tours around the city. Across the city there were events at Studenterhuset, Jailhouse CPH, Centre Stage, Vela, Nordhus and Empire Bio.

The programme also included a reception for Pride’s partners, where Implement Consulting Group and got2be were announced as new partners, and many others have already renewed their agreements for the coming year, including Demant, Scandic Hotels, Fagbevægelsens Hovedorganisation and Finansforbundet.

Copenhagen Pride is now looking forward to new events and initiatives in the coming months.

June is considered ‘International Pride Month’, but because Copenhagen Pride takes place in August, there are often no LGBTQIA+ events in the city in June. So this year, Copenhagen Pride is launching a new programme called Pride: Out Loud! which brings international speakers to the city.

Every week in June, we bring a new speaker – a LoudSpeaker – to Copenhagen. You can hear them at a large public event – in the style of a TED Talk – where their talk will be followed by a more intimate conversation with the audience. They will also meet with Danish politicians, embassies and community organisations, and two speakers will also participate in Folkemødet.

We are extremely excited about Pride: Out Loud! and to announce the LoudSpeakers for 2025:

  • Brandon Wolf, civil rights activist and survivor of the 2016 Pulse nightclub attack (USA),
  • Vladi Luxuria, the first transgender person elected to a parliament in Europe (Italy),
  • Yasmin Benoit, award-winning model and activist for asexual rights and visibility (UK),
  • Rahul Upadhyay, founder of Gandhinagar Queer Pride and activist for LGBTQIA+ rights in Asia (India).

You can find more information here and tickets will go on sale in April.

At Folkemødet, Pride will once again collaborate with LGBT+ Denmark, FSTB, LGBT Asylum and Sabaah to programme the Rainbow Tent.

Pride Week returns in August with City Hall Square / Pride Square as the centre of activities, including the stage for shows and speeches. The Human Rights programme is back at Rainbow Square, Children’s Pride in the City Hall Garden, and the parade takes place on Saturday 16 August. The programme will include events across the city and will be announced in mid-July.

The volunteer team behind Copenhagen Pride is growing, and a recent recruitment campaign for year-round volunteers has brought several new people into the organisation. The campaign is still ongoing and potential volunteers are invited to attend introductory meetings at the Pride office.
